The installation of sculptural works Motherless Daughters is ready for exhibition at the University of Derby, Britannia Mill, Mackworth Road, Derby from 28th May until 11th June 2016. http://www.derby.ac.uk/big-show/public-exhibition/arts/.
The exhibition opening times are 9.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Sunday (Closed 29th and 30th May), (5th June open 12pm - 5pm) at University of Derby, Britannia Mill Studios, Mackworth Road, Derby. I will be there Saturday 28th May 1pm - 5.30pm, Saturday 4 June 1pm - 5pm and Friday 10th June 9.30 am - 1pm. Please call in to visit and say hello. Finished preparation of the plinths and I'm now testing out display positions of works for the exhibition.  Work produced using life casting techniques with alginate and the lost wax casting process to create the bronze hand.  Development of the work 'Eternal bonds'. Each wax chain link is modelled and 'wax welded' to join into a chain attached to a ceiling mounted plaster sculpture. Approximately 18 metres of wax chain has now been made for this piece. |
